Note Types and What Comes Back

Xiaohongshu treats each kind of note differently, and so does the parser.

Links That Work and Links That Do Not

A note that opens for a signed-out visitor can be saved, and that covers most of what people share: travel notes, recipes, outfit posts, product reviews. Both the app's xhslink share text and a full web address from a browser are accepted.

What does not work is anything Xiaohongshu keeps behind a login: private notes, notes visible only to followers, and posts that have been taken down or are under review. The web tool never uses your account, so it sees exactly what a stranger with the link would see.

  • A share link can expire — copy a fresh one if an old one stops resolving.
  • Saving a whole profile at once is a desktop-app job; this page takes one note at a time.
  • Creators' photos are their work. Keep what you are entitled to and credit the author if you share it on.

Do photos come back at full size?

Yes, each image is offered at the size it was uploaded at, rather than the compressed preview the feed shows.

Is there a watermark on the file?

No. The file is the one Xiaohongshu serves for playback, and nothing is added or cropped on our side.

Can I save the background music alone?

When the note has an audio track, it is listed in its own tab and can be saved without the video.

Why does my link say the note is unavailable?

It is usually private, deleted or under review — or the share link has expired. Copy a new link and try again.

Do I need a Xiaohongshu account?

No. Public notes are read straight from the link, and your account is never involved.

Can I download every note from one creator?

Not from this page, which handles a single link. Working through a whole profile is a desktop-app feature.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Copy in the app, switch to your browser and paste — there is nothing to install.
